    We welcomed Officer Ted Thorson, #24033, to the California Highway Patrol, Mojave area. He graduated from the CHP Academy in West Sacramento on Sept. 13. He is excited for the opportunity to serve the communities in Eastern Kern County.   • CHP Mojave seeks senior volunteers

    The California Highway Patrol, Mojave Area is looking for senior volunteers. We currently have eight senior volunteers, most of whom have been a CHP volunteer for over 10 years. We are looking for seniors who would like to give back to Kern County and make a positive impact. This round of applications will be closing on Aug. 23.
