John Barnes has been named the new Pastor at Stallion Springs Community Church. Barnes will begin his full time duties on August 14. He is from Texas, but has been a missionary in Haiti for the past few years. He is married to Christi and they have a teenage daughter Tehah, and two adopted Haitian children, Ava and Jordan. Welcome to Rebecca Sipes the new Office Administrator for the Stallion Springs CSD. Becky, as she prefers to be called, started Tuesday, July 5. Her experience includes past employment at the Murrieta Water District and she has Board Secretary experience, including several training certificates and she is very customer oriented. Police Chief Mike Grant reports, the Stallion Springs Police Department assisted the Kern County Sheriff at the Erskine Fire. Two units responded to the Fire on Thursday, June 23 and again on Friday, June 24. The third unit covered calls in the Tehachapi area when needed on June 23, 24, and 25. Race team member Raul Alcaraz provided an update on their progress at the July 21 Board of Directors meeting. We normally can see quite a variety of wildlife in Stallion Springs: elk, deer, wild boar, raccoons, bobcats and the occasional mountain lion. The elusive black bear can sometimes be seen as well. The Stallion Springs Board of Directors held its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 21. In a Special Meeting held at 5:30 p.m. the Board approved a revised agreement with Consultant David Aranda reducing his monthly “not to exceed payment amount” to $5,000.
