    About ten years ago a group of local artists came together to share ideas. Formerly known as the "Fiber Frogs", they met weekly at the Field of Dreams Alpaca Ranch.     The children from Wednesday's Art for Kids at the Treasure Trove are so excited. Their artwork is on display through the month of March at Kohnen's Country Bakery, 125 W. Tehachapi Blvd. Ste. D. Participating in the exhibit is James Mangelsdorf, age 7, Phillip Mangelsdorf, age 12, Bentley Hecht, age 7 and Daniel Palmquist, age 7. The boys have been learning acrylic painting and drawing.     Born and raised in Coalinga, Calif., Molly Sherman moved to Tehachapi in 1967 and has resided here ever since. She studied massage therapy at the Institute of Holistic Studies in 1988 and opened her massage practice in 1989. Molly grew up with a natural health background. Says Sherman, "Back then everything was organic. That's the way things were grown. My mother taught us about helpful remedies and about foot reflexology."     Mary Beth Dillon, a resident at the Adventist Medical Health Center Tehachapi, recently passed away but her memory will never leave us. Mary's roommate, June Schwark said she looks at Mary's passing as a celebration and homecoming. Says Schwark, "I miss Mary but I am happy for her because she is no longer in pain."   • Eat, drink and paint merrily

    Once a month the Tehachapi Treasure Trove hosts a painting party. Local artists provide instruction and the Trove provides snacks, drinks (soda, coffee and wine) and all the painting supplies needed to make a great painting, which is finished during the session.     For the past several weeks with the help of funding for supplies from the Arts Council of Kern, long-term care residents at the Adventist Health Medical Center have been busy painting.     The Tehachapi Association of Teachers and the Tehachapi Unified School District have been in contract negotiations for the current school year for many months.     It was standing room only as community members and district teachers filled the meeting room to capacity at the Jan. 17 board meeting of the Tehachapi Unified School District.
