It was Jess' friend of 50 years, Steve Rhodes, who suggested they look at Tehachapi as a place to live, and they fell in love with the area. At their Aug. 15 meeting, the Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District Board unanimously approved the organization's 2023-24 final budget. About 60 people were at the Tehachapi Depot Railroad Museum on Sunday afternoon, July 30, for a demonstration of the Bill Stokoe Signal Collection located outside of the museum. The Tehachapi Arts Commission announced that the Art 2023 Tehachapi show, which took place at the Aspen Builders Community Center over the July 21-23 weekend, surpassed both of the prior years in both attendance and sales.
