Kip is teaching science and biology at Desert Junior/Senior High School. Laurie is teaching first grade at Bailey Elementary School. Their daughter, Olivia, is a nurse at Edwards, and with her husband Billy, is the mother of Kip and Laurie's first grandchild and the primary reason for their move to California.     The Tehachapi City Council meeting held on Nov. 7 began with council approval for the upcoming Tehachapi Hometown Christmas and Tree Lighting, to be held on Dec. 3. The event will take place on N. Green Street and Centennial Plaza from 2-5 p.m. prior to the Christmas Parade at 5:30 p.m. There will be photos with Santa, craft booths, vendors and charitable organizations.     On Oct. 15, during the Apple Festival, Super Logan, an 11-year-old super hero accompanied by his sidekick, Wonder Dad, arrived in Tehachapi in time to save the Apple Festival from being taken over by the notorious villain, Bitter Apple, by using his supply of enchanted apples. During the siege, he saved Tehachapi Mayor Phil Smith from being squashed by a rock. As a result of this feat, he was given a key to the city by Mayor Smith.     On Friday, Nov. 11, Tehachapi will be celebrating Veterans Day in Philip Marx Central Park. She and her four rescue dogs moved from Fountain Hills, Arizona, where Rosemary had lived for the last 20 years.     In a special meeting held on Sept. 21, the Tehachapi City Council voted unanimously to award the contract for the Dennison Water Main Project to California Compaction Company, who submitted the low bid of $649,486.57.
