During the next three months, the City of Tehachapi will be holding redistricting meetings for the five City Council districts according to state requirements. In August Duke Littlejohn gave up his life in Lake Elsinore and moved into his grandmother’s log cabin in Sand Canyon, accompanied by his son Duke Jr., his daughter Chloe and two dogs named Oreo and Brutus. The Tehachapi Arts Commission has announced Art in the Park, a project that will eventually place life-size works of art in each of Tehachapi's parks. In 2022, the Commission plans to begin the project with a donation to the new Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District Skate Park. On Nov. 1, the Tehachapi City Council updated the rate it charges developers for water rights. Since 2007 the Tehachapi Municipal Code has provided a fee mechanism to collect funds from new residential developments to assist in the procurement of long-term water rights.
