The Warriors and Knights Mountain Bike Teams are wrapping up the 2024 race season. With Southern California's tricky weather this year, the team faced super hot weather, deep stream crossings and rain soaked courses that clogged up their wheels. Tehachapi's students were up to the challenge though, and were strong all year. The SoCal Youth Cycling League's season ends with its Championship race in Tehachapi this year on May 12. Tehachapi will be hosting the 2024 SoCal Championships in its own...

Stray Leaves Vineyard and Tasting Room has accomplished a great deal since it first began. Vineyard owner, Clifford Meridth, had always enjoyed taking care of his plants, tending to the garden each year with fruit trees and vegetables. His land of 25 acres, that he had acquired over the years for his horses, gave him an opportunity to put his gardening skills and love of wine to use. Back in 2009, Clifford began to plant the first vines of Riesling, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon in his vineyard....

The 2024 season, as well as the 10th season for the Tehachapi...

From 2005 to 2014, Kate protected the vineyard as it grew from baby plants to beautiful vines. For six months in...

It was so exciting to see a lot of you during the Tehachapi Hometown Christmas activities, inside the tasting room and alongside the parade route! Cliff Meridth, our owner, joined the march down F Street in a horse drawn wagon! His two horses, Juliette and Isabell, did a great job pulling the lit-up wine...
Tehachapi is commonly known as the small mountain town with the windmills, and now, most recently, an up-and-coming wine country. As of December 21st, 2020, 58,000 acres of Tehachapi land received their AVA designation. AVA stands for American Viticultural Area and oversees differentiating the multiple climates grapes can be grown in. With Tehachapi on the AVA map, vineyards are able describe the origin of their wines more accurately. This allows the public to gather a better understanding of...
