    Tehachapi Mountain Democratic Club has arranged for Julie Solis to address the group at their Feb. 6 meeting. She is a candidate for the Kern County Democratic Central Committee which supports Democratic organizations, candidates and causes in Kern County. Solis, a teacher, has worked with Assemblyman Rudy Salas to get millions of dollars for Kern County residents who suffer from Valley Fever.     Members of the American Association of University Women learned about cemeteries and graveyards when Barbara Wood and Janice Armstrong spoke at the November monthly meeting. He used a series of photographs to show the transition of Tehachapi through the years.     There is a new picture at Tehachapi Library thanks to Helen McAllister and American Association of University Women. It was painted by local artist Helen McAllister in response to AAUW's program on suicide prevention. The program reminded McAllister of a suicide in Tehachapi that was prompted by bullying.     Sandy Chavez is passionate about her work as Center Coordinator for Salvation Army. She recently shared the reasons for her enthusiasm with Tehachapi Kiwanis Club. In just the first quarter of this year, she reported that 3,143 people were able to get food to feed their families in Tehachapi. The center distributed 109,901 pounds of donated food.     Scott Spielman is a Kern County Assistant District Attorney who has seen numerous cases during his career where families have been devastated when loved ones have died as a result of drunk driving.
