    Tehachapi Life Photography|Aug 6, 2016

Saturday, July 23 was the very first South Street Days event. They had vendors spreading out from Pioneer True Value, to Savannah's Saloon. It was so enjoyable to be introduced to businesses that are off the beaten path. They all feature a vast array of talents. The event had fun for kids of all ages including camel rides, petting zoo, and unicorn rides for the children. Then for the auto enthusiasts there were hot rods, and demolition cars on display. For the chef, home-maker, and crafters ther...

  • Super Kid Music Show

    Tehachapi Life Photography|Aug 6, 2016

Nick and Jen brought their interactive Super Kid Music Show to the children of this town, and they rocked! Children listened intently to the stories of Nick and Jen, then got up and danced, crawled, slept, and laughed. They took these kids on a safari adventure, escaping crocodiles in the jungle, by using their imaginations. It was so good to see these boys and girls participate in such a positive event. They had such a fun time without the technology of our age. Kids were being kids. Also,...

    Tehachapi Life Photography|Jul 23, 2016

From May to September, Souza Winery hosts the Dog Days of Summer. Once a month people and their furry friends come out and show their support to a nonprofit organization which helps dogs (and cats). Souza then donates a portion of the wine sale proceeds to the organization. Pictured are some of the members of the Tehachapi Humane Society at the July 15 Dog Days. Under the canopy of a blue sky and a gentle breeze, people congregated at Benz Park to have themselves an evening of fun and relaxation. Not only did they have a good time, but the funds generated by this event will be directed to 14 charities that will help those in need. It was a beautiful day that brought hundreds of friends together to sample 140 varieties of beer and wine, and to spend the day making new memories. Mento Buru rocked the stage, causing their audience to get up and enjoy hours...

  • Tehachapi's Very First Brew Fondo

    Tehachapi Life Photography|Jul 23, 2016

Tehachapi's very first Brew Fondo was a ride that challenged the cyclists to push themselves hard, and to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the mountains. The trail took them through farmlands, steep hills, main streets, and rocky terrain. It was amazing to see the degree of ambitious looks on faces as they pushed themselves up to the top of the hills. Watching them cross the finish line, I couldn't help but think about the sense of accomplishment they must feel, and the deep quiet...

  • Freedom Plaza and Visitor Center Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting

    Tehachapi Life Photography|Jul 9, 2016

It was my treat to be part of the grand opening and ribbon cutting for the Freedom Plaza and Visitor Center on June 30 (located on the corner of Curry St. and Tehachapi Blvd.). It was a wonderful event. To see our little town grow into a Visitor Center just puts a smile on my face. People from around the country pass through our town, and now they have a place to gather information and be encouraged to download the "Visit Tehachapi" app (locals should, too!). We have some of the world's...
