In July of 2017, Todd Post and three other families in his extended family moved to Bear Valley Springs (BVS) from different parts of the country. Post and his wife moved from Connecticut, one of his wife's sisters moved from Thousand Oaks as did their nephew, and the second sister moved from Bakersfield. For the second year in a row, City of Tehachapi employee 23-year-old Tiffany Rea, has been named Miss Kern County for the Miss United States Pageant. In the late summer, Mary Bowman observed a young man mowing the weeds in a vacant lot behind her house on Sherwood Place. As she did not recognize him, she inquired through Facebook as to the young man's identity. The Tehachapi Martial Arts Center (TMAC) celebrated their 28th Annual End of the Year Party and gift exchange at the studio on Dec. 13.
