    The Kiwanis Club of Tehachapi acknowledged May as Mental Health Awareness Month by posting a banner in a high-traffic location with the Kern County Crisis hotline in bold numbers.     Nine finalists from 4th, 5th and 6th grades competed on May 6 in the annual Bank of America Essay and Speech Competition. The event was held virtually this year.     During the fist two weeks of May, Adventist Health in Kern County celebrated Nurses Week and Hospital Week in a big way. They commissioned Bakersfield muralist Jennifer Williams-Cordova to design two different paint-by-number murals for each of their three hospitals, Bakersfield, Delano and Tehachapi Valley.
