    The American Legion Auxiliary Tehachapi Unit 221 would like to thank the Lauren, Christopher, Victoria Miller and Stephanie Byrd for their time offering poppies during our annual Poppy Days in May. Along with Auxiliary members and American Legion Post 221, we had a very successful event. Thank you to the public for your generous donations. The money raised will be spent solely on Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation projects within the Tehachapi area....

  • Tehachapi High School snack bar vandalized

    On May 16, at approximately 4:37 p.m., officers responded to a report of structure fire at Coy Burnett Stadium, at the 700 block of E. Tehachapi Blvd. The damaged structure is the snack bar the Tehachapi High School Boosters use for fundraisers and THS local games. Officers immediately evacuated the surrounding area and the Kern County Fire Department arrived to extinguish the flames. There was major damage caused to the interior of the building.
