Cat and Kitten season has begun and there is no shortage of beautiful cats and kittens to adopt! The COVID pandemic has had an effect on the cat population in several ways. First of all, the usual number of spay and neuter clinics were cut way back due to prolonged closures, rise in the prices of supplies and, in our case, retirement and change in services. All of this resulted in less spays and neuters - hence, more cat population. People lose their employment, often their homes, and...

The year 2019 was simply busy with a young family and 2020 was, well, fan-less as the season was a mere 60 games and the stands filled with cardboard cutouts and phony crowd noise...

A British Afternoon Tea was held May 22 at St. Jude's in the Mountains Anglican Church in Tehachapi. Afternoon tea was introduced in Britain in the early 1840s. It evolved as a mini meal to stem the hunger and anticipation of an evening meal at 8 p.m. At the St. Jude's Afternoon Tea, various types of tea were served from lovely teapots and the typical afternoon tea menu of dainty sandwiches (usually cut delicately into "fingers"), scones with clotted cream and jam, sweet pastries and cakes were...
