Tehachapi Heritage League is conducting a silent auction of three items: an American flag, flown over the U.S. Capitol this July 4th and provided by Congressman Kevin McCarthy and Judy McCarthy; a DVD about the 1952 earthquake with a t-shirt; and a cement bag from Monolith Cement plant. On June 8, the cornerstone and matriarch of our family, Joanne (Jodi) Norris, passed away from complications of heart failure, at the age of 90 years, 3 months. She passed away in her sleep at 2:35 a.m. At the time of her death, she was a patient at Tehachapi Hospital where she received exceptional and compassionate care, for which we are so grateful! Family Life Pregnancy Center had a ribbon cutting on June 6 at 103 E. D St., Tehachapi. They opened their door to the community and neighbors providing tours of their new and permanent location.
