    Caltrans installed an audible alert system at the intersection of Tucker Road and Valley Blvd/202. This instrument is designed to alert a visually challenged person when it is safe to cross the intersection. An audible signal is sent to alert the pedestrian of the proper phasing to cross who might not be able to see the visual signal otherwise....

    Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District, what's a pump track? It is a training track for mountain bikes. It provides another way for our community to get kids active and out on their bikes.     Artists of all ages and skill level will grace our sidewalks with their creations. Tehachapi Valley Arts Association is looking for sponsors to make the event a spectacular success. Sponsors at the $100 level will receive their name or business name on the 2015 Chalk on the Walk t-shirt. They will also receive a t-shirt, a 4’ x 4’ sidewalk square and a box of 24 chalks to create their own masterpieces.     Typically, spring is the season we associate with planting and growth. This is true for seed and annual gardening, but fall is the time I recommend for hardy perennial herb plants.
