World War II veterans and Korean War veterans have made the trip, and now they are concentrating primarily on our Vietnam veterans. Two veterans from Bear Valley Springs were awarded the honor this year. On June 17 they were on their way. One of the honorees was Don Bailey. Don enlisted in March 1966 and served...

Cats, cats and more cats. In fact, a million of them are in the story "Millions of Cats" written and illustrated by Wanda Gag in 1928. This book became the recipient of the Newbery Honor Award in 1929, and was one of very few picture books ever to do so. "Millions of Cats" is the oldest American picture book still in print. An elderly couple decide to look for the world's prettiest cat. The man brings home so many, at least a million, and neither husband nor wife can decide which one is the...

The Brite Valley ranch became the third of four facilities owned by veterinarian Balpal (Billa) Sandhu, DVM. I love going to the movies, but I'm not sure I could tell you what my favorite part of the experience is – it could be the story being told on the screen, or it could be the tub of popcorn in my lap. I really like the kind of movie theater popcorn you can only get in a theater – no matter how they package the stuff at the grocery store and try to pass it off as being the same thing, it just ain't – and I even like the butter flavoring they put on it. Does this process sound familiar to you? You dial the number to speak to someone for assistance, choose an option from an automated machine and get placed on hold.
