When Monica Nadon began her quest to bring Louisa May Alcott's "Little Women" to the TCT stage in 2006, she read through several adaptations to decide which one she would choose. The problem was, Nadon really wasn't happy with any one version. "None of them seemed to hold completely true to the novel's soul," said Nadon. "Much of the emotional depth you experienced in her novel, was simply missing. I wanted to highlight Alcott's amazing skill in showing how each 'little woman' morphed into her o...

We have provided a guide to when you need to stop for a school bus so you don't get stopped...

This article was written by Edward Jones for use by your local Edward Jones Financial Advisor. What's going on with the financial markets? Specifically, what's behind the price swings of the past several weeks? And, more important, how should you, as an individual investor, respond? To begin with, the recent volatility was not really all that extraordinary. The daily drops pushed U.S. stocks down about 10% from their recent record highs, although they have regained some of that ground. A 10% dro...
We all use devices (smartphone, tablet, or computer) that contain information we don't want strangers or thieves to access. To protect our privacy, we lock our devices with a username/password combination. Since we're going to be unlocking our device 5, 10, 15, 20 times a day, we use our fingerprints, our faces, passcode or PIN, or a lock screen pattern to unlock our device instead of our username/password. Which is great, but what if you've got bandages on your fingers, your face got stung by b...

The new school year has just begun, and the adjustment to returning to school may take a few weeks. Returning to school can be fun and exciting, with every day bringing new experiences, but it can also be difficult for some children. Kids today are faced with far more than learning new material. You can help prepare your children for the experiences they will...
Tehachapi has become a place of opportunity for all. We can't promise you the "American Dream" but we've certainly taken plenty of steps to make it far more attainable in our City. Last week was a great indicator of that, we celebrated the opening of several additions to the City of Tehachapi. Of course, Walmart was the most notable, releasing a pent-up demand for general merchandise and grocery shopping locally. By the turnout and the crowds at the store, I'd say Walmart's decision to come to...
