    Part of the Education Program of the American Legion Auxiliary is a project called "Give 10". The Tehachapi Unit 221 participates in this activity when requested by educators or faculty of any school within our school district. Tehachapi American Legion Auxiliary Unit 221 presented buckets, lids, and wipes to Golden Hills Elementary for use in an emergency.     Tehachapi Valley Reacreation and Park District is undergoing some organizational changes. At her first meeting as General Manager of TVRPD, Michelle Vance announced that the district has hired Bill Fisher, currently General Manager of Golden Hills Community Service District, as the new Operations Manager.     Tehachapi was well represented at the Bakersfield Metro BMX, "Northern Calif. Vs Southern Calif" race on August 20. With over 200 BMX riders from throughout California, this was one of the biggest races Metro has had on their newly designed and improved track. Local 8-year-old racer Alex Howard competed in the 8 and under Intermediate Division and finished with a 1st place license plate award.
