    On September 16, Jenny Lavers from Adventist Health AIS Cancer Center addressed the Tehachapi Rotary Club giving some of the background and functions of the center. Lavers is Administrative Director of Service Lines for the center. She told Rotarians that the AIS Cancer Center was founded in 2013, filling a real need in the Bakersfield community.     Today we will report a net reduction of 185 cases on the Public Health COVID-19 Dashboard. This negative number is a result of a data batch update run by the state to de-duplicate COVID-19 case records between April 28, 2020 and September 17, 2021. Had the state not run their batch process, we would have reported 402 new COVID-19 cases in Kern County today; however, the state’s process removed 587 duplicate cases resulting in a net report of a reduction of 185 cases.     At their September 13 meeting, the Tehachapi Planning Commission approved the development of 55 of the remaining lots of Alta Estates located just west of Curry St. and south of Pinon St. The lots will be developed by nationally-known developer K.
