The Well Music and Arts Foundation invites everyone to their first fundraiser, as they turn the Tehachapi Winery into a 1920s speakeasy with the live murder-mystery play “I Love You to Death” by Robert J. Leblanc. “I Love You to Death” is back by popular demand after its sold out performances at the Oak Tree Country Club. The play is directed by Andi Hicks and stars local actors. The City of Lancaster has done a complete turnaround over the years in making their downtown a destination in itself. On Lancaster Boulevard, the area's main thoroughfare, there are no empty storefronts now; trees line the center of the street's pull-in parking spaces, murals decorate many buildings' walls and even store windows, and crosswalks are marked with colored patterns on the pavement. My day trippin' pal Leila and I were there a week ago to visit MOAH (the Museum of Art and History,...
On Sept. 14, James T. Mitchell celebrated his 90th birthday at our local McDonald's, with his son at his side. TJ is a long-time Tehachapi resident and loves our fantastic weather. JT's father came to Kern for work in the oil fields of Bakersfield. JT is doing very well and still drives to get his tea at McDonald every morning. I know we all wish JT many happy...

You can see from the picture above that they accomplished a lot! Pictured from left to right: Mike Coughlin, Greg Chick and Kathy...

We are very proud to have him teaching the Firefighting Training class at Cerro Coso Community College's Tehachapi Campus. Brandon taught the class last Spring semester and will be...
