  • Ceremonial sword presented to Portrait of a Warrior Gallery

    On Oct. 30, the Major Jason E. George VFW Post 12114 presented the Portrait of a Warrior Gallery Kern County with Jason's ceremonial West Point sword. In a solemn ceremony, the sword was presented to the Gallery by Post Commander Russell Slover, Jr. Vice Commander Kenneth Kendall, and Quartermaster Alex Athans.     Cadets and senior members from the Tehachapi Composite Squadron 46, Civil Air Patrol, Air Force Auxiliary were awarded the National Commander Unit Citation Award this past week for their humanitarian assistance during the onset of the Covid-19 Pandemic.     Tehachapi Valley Arts Association and Gallery 'N' Gifts' annual "Art in the Classroom" campaign was a huge success. After hosting several local community fundraising events such as handcraft vendor fairs, photo contests and Chalk on the Walk, TVAA got the word out to local teachers that art supplies would be available to them.
