Last week, I attended a meeting at the Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Parks District, as I often do, and I was approached by someone there who thanked me for the Christmas lights at our Wastewater Treatment Facility. This person told me that he enjoyed seeing the lights on his nightly commute and that they gave him the feeling of being home. Though the lights are temporary, they serve as a bit of a landmark for him, and maybe some others, that indicate they can relax and enjoy this great place...

Laughter prevailed as the Scouts, with the vets taking part, performed a song followed by a skit. Boy Scouts, Jeremy Rivers, Jack Schuyler and Brian Morse, from Troop Three, were on hand to assist the Cubs. Assisting from the Web...
On December 11, 2014, the Tehachapi Police Department held its second annual Shop With a Cop event in the City of Tehachapi. Twenty underprivileged children from our community were able to spend the evening eating and shopping with local law enforcement officers. The 58 Diner provided a wonderful dinner before the children departed in police cars to Kmart for their Christmas shopping experience. Each child was provided with a gift card to purchase Christmas gifts for themselves and their families. This event provides an opportunity for law...

If they are not removed, the rain water and the snow melt water can get trapped. When the temperature cools, that water can turn into ice. The result is the gutters can start to pull away from the house. This can create overhead hazards. 2) TRIM DEAD TREE LIMBS When ice storms hit, trees branches encased with ice become extremely heavy. If those...
