On Friday, Feb. 16, Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District discovered extensive vandalism at Meadowbrook Park. Meadowbrook is a regional park that is owned and maintained by the Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District. TVRPD has 11 full-time employees who maintain over 110 acres of parks, each park unique and one of a kind. Approximately 20 years ago, the Rotary Club began its Senior Luncheon program in December, serving residents a full holiday meal, which included turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, green beans, dinner rolls, drinks and pumpkin pie. On the afternoon of Veterans Day, over 50 people attended the dedication of a bench located in front of the American Legion Hall located on F Street. The bench was placed in honor of Gilbert Louis Mitchell, Tehachapi's only MIA.
