    Peter Cutler|Aug 6, 2016

Do a Google search for The Better Halves and the first thing one will come across is the phrase, "Music handcrafted to make you smile". Considering all the stresses and strains in our daily lives these days, a smile, no matter how small or fleeting, is a thing of great value. Suddenly, our concerns are put into proper perspective and we find ourselves truly appreciating our lives the way they are given to us. Anything that elicits that kind of response should be considered great therapy,...

  • Kerry Patrick Clark's July 15 Concert

    Deborah Hand-Cutler|Jul 9, 2016

Kerry Patrick Clark has been called "A Musical Norman Rockwell" because of the portraits he paints with his music of everyday life. Rockwell gave us an affectionate and humorous look at small town and family life in America in his famous paintings and Saturday Evening Post Magazine covers. Like Rockwell with his art, Clark, in his music, shows us what we as a people have in common. A native of Ohio, Clark's music centers around stories of love, faith, family, friends and the dreams to which we...

  • Hold on to Your Ballot Box!

    Deborah Hand-Cutler|May 28, 2016

At this point in this "forever" presidential campaign, Fiddlers Crossing decided a little levity would be in order, in the form of political satirist Roy Zimmerman. Saturday, June 4, will mark his second appearance at Fiddlers Crossing. He played to a sold-out crowd in 2014. While Zimmerman may not change any minds a few days before our primary, he should at least give us an evening of hilarity. He is, after all, "an equal opportunity offender." He finds just about everything and everyone funny...

    Deborah Hand-Cutler|Jan 23, 2016

Over the last few months, TCT has been on a path of reorganization and renewal. The spring schedule of plays has been totally revised, and new plays and ideas are in the works. Fiddlers Crossing has brought one-person concert-theatre pieces to Tehachapi, with performances by blues master Guy Davis and Celtic harpist Patrick Ball. With the success of those shows, the venue has been considering bringing in a series of one-person concert-theatre pieces. It's natural, then, that the community...

  • Berkley Hart returns to September 12

    Deborah Hand-Cutler and Peter Cutler|Aug 29, 2015

Over the last five years, Fiddlers Crossing has been bringing some of the best musical storytellers to Tehachapi. Berkley Hart, returning for their second appearance in the venue Sept. 12, is certainly in the top tier of musical storytellers. Deborah Hand-Cutler|Jul 4, 2015

Juni Fisher is no stranger to these parts. She has already given three sold-out concerts in Fiddlers Crossing and will ride into town July 10 for her fourth appearance. Fisher is the real deal – a Western singer who actually IS a cowgirl. Many of her songs are about women rodeo riders of bygone days, and she can be funny and poignant at the same time. Fisher grew up horse crazy on a San Joaquin Valley citrus farm, achieving 4-H and FFA honors, listening to the music of Marty Robbins, Joan Baez and Burl Ives, and learning Western songs from h...

    Deborah Hand-Cutler|May 9, 2015

As a descendant of Cornish miners who had a tradition of singing while they worked in the mines, singer-songwriter Rita Hosking grew up with a deep regard for the power of the human voice. In her songs, she draws on her own childhood growing up outside of Mount Shasta, as well as her family's roots in the gold mines of Grass Valley. She sings of forest fires, demolition derbies and the hopes and dreams of the working class in the small town of her youth. While rooted in Northern California,...
