It all started 10 years ago, when several souls set out to organize and plant a church on the outskirts of Bear Valley Springs. Over the years the vision came together as many volunteers rendered their skills to complete the Sanctuary. Last winter on a cold sunny morning the cross was found, right side up, on top of a snow bank. The fatigue of many years of the transition from hot days and cold nights along with our Tehachapi winds showed itself in the design that should normally have lasted...
I have been around aviation since 1983, when I took lessons to fly sailplanes in Tehachapi at the former Fantasy Haven Gliderport, which is today known as Mountain Valley Airport. One of the incentives to get me up to 4,000 feet was to learn to fly and work in Kern County. I have been lucky to have had some great flight instructors and to have been around so many good pilots and I have learned from each of them. One pilot in particular, who towed us up in the gliders, made a big impression on...

They traveled all over the country, as well as Europe, Israel, Australia, and lived four years in Germany. When they lived in Ohio, Edwards Air Force Base offered them an opportunity to move to California that they could not refuse. They came to the Golden State in 1991. An educated woman, Judy received her BA degree in business management...
The guitar is a versatile musical instrument. It can be used to play many styles of music, from classical to bluegrass, folk, rock, jazz, blues, country and many others. Most of the time, it is heard either as a solo instrument or in a band accompanied by bass, drums, keyboards, strings, horns and more. Often, a band will have two guitarists, one playing rhythm and the other lead. Then there is the guitar quartet--no bass, drums or keyboards, just four guitars. This configuration is not...

First let me tell you about my book "The Wisdomkeepers, Tehachapi Women of Substance." I have so many incredible friends here in Tehachapi and I wanted to document their stories. Everyone has a story...
