Rhonda Brady from the Tehachapi Rotary Club reported that the "12 Days of Christmas" senior food drive donations resulted in the distribution of 160 boxes. At their Jan. 6 meeting, Tehachapi Rotarians welcomed Daniel Wolcott, Adventist Health's President of Kern County Care Delivery. Wolcott oversees the operation of the three Kern County AH hospitals located in Bakersfield, Delano and Tehachapi. Cheers to Charity 2021 has a lot to celebrate! What started as a small fundraising event in the Veritas parking lot back in 2014 has become the most anticipated fundraiser of the year in Tehachapi. This month, the Cheers team funded eleven local nonprofits with grants ranging from $2,000 to $15,000 for a total of $55,568. On September 16, Jenny Lavers from Adventist Health AIS Cancer Center addressed the Tehachapi Rotary Club giving some of the background and functions of the center. Lavers is Administrative Director of Service Lines for the center. She told Rotarians that the AIS Cancer Center was founded in 2013, filling a real need in the Bakersfield community.
