The Stallion Springs CSD expressed a huge "thank you" to all who made Oktoberfest a huge success. The funds from this year's event will be used to match a grant to get new playgrounds at both Man O' War and Horsethief parks, as well as for the aeration of the lake. The Tehachapi Rotary Club speaker on Oct. 6 was Tehachapi Cummings County Water District General Manager Tom Neisler. Chris Buckley moved into his new Stallion Springs home in August when he arrived back in the United States from Japan for his new assignment at Edwards Air Force Base. Chris is an analyst for the Air Force. The Stallion Springs Police Department and the Kern County Fire Department held a meet and greet barbecue at the Community Center. More than 200 residents attended to enjoy the free burgers, hot dogs and ice cream provided by the CSD and the SSPD. Naomi Torres-Myers, 75, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on May 3.
