The Apple Pie Cake mix is loaded with organically grown gala apples, organic Ceylon cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, ginger and cardamon. All you add is eggs, oil and a couple...

  • Brick and mortar in a computer world

    Marty Pay, MBA, CLU, LUTC-F, contributing writer|Nov 11, 2023

Just about the time I retired earlier this year, a friend of mine sold his brick-and-mortar business. But he started the same business online and absolutely loves it! He says he's doubled his business, doesn't have to contend with the servicing and basically sets the client up with the product and then steps back. I can understand from a business perspective how this might be appealing, but what about the customer service we all grew up with as consumers and as small business owners? I get that...

What we didn’t know was that we would discover a wonderful, serendipitous, entertaining and delightful event. This walk had taken us to where the Tehachapi Pops Orchestra was putting on their Halloween Spooktacular. We were invited in and completely taken by how all the decorations and musical instruments had modernized what used to be the old Moose Lodge....

We most likely no longer marvel at our own shadow, the leaf of a tree, a piece of straw, how the breeze feels so soft, how fuzzy soft a bee looks.
