Following a vote by the board of directors at the general membership meeting on April 12, the Tehachapi Warriors Booster Club is awarding a record nine scholarships for Tehachapi High School student-athletes. For the third consecutive year, the Tehachapi Arts Commission will kick off their nationally recognized art show in mid-May when 49 artists from across the country will visit and explore Tehachapi to begin paintings that will be completed at their studio and then juried into the Art 2023 Tehachapi show. After a long illness, Cynthia Lea Gassaway passed away on March 28 with loved ones by her side. Cindi was born on Dec. 10, 1956, at Memorial Hospital in Bakersfield, California. She was essentially a lifelong resident of Tehachapi. She attended Tehachapi Schools from kindergarten through high school and graduated from Tehachapi High School in the Class of 1975.
