The Salvation Army of Tehachapi had another successful year with their annual Back to School event. The event served over 60 local Tehachapi families with new backpacks, clothing, and school supplies. 162 backpacks and over 1,400 articles of clothing were distributed to local families. Chad Aaron Allred passed away at the age of 45 on Aug. 6 in Bakersfield, following a brief but very aggressive battle with leukemia. He went to be with his Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ.
