Tehachapi Composite Squadron 46, Civil Air Patrol, was able to participate this weekend in much needed Emergency Services training to better serve our community. Our cadets learned how to use a compass to determine a bearing, and how to read and use a map. The Tehachapi Valley Gem and Mineral Society is back and gaining momentum for the upcoming Tehachapi Mountain Festival. For a number of years we have held an annual Rock and Mineral Show and this year it will be bigger and better than before. The Tehachapi Senior Activities Center greeted the community with a soft opening on July 12. The Senior Center provides a safe and secure space where elders can share in nutritious meals, exercise and social activities with other seniors.
