    A 1943 Silver Spitfire Mk IX from the U.K., piloted by Matt Jones and Steve Brooks, stopped at the Mojave Airport on Aug. 31 as part of their trip around the world.     After the removal of the old rail and ties, a new roadbed was graded inside of the West Portal of Union Pacific's Tunnel 10 just east of the Loop.     On July 29, volunteers assisted Tehachapi Valley Recreation & Park District with much needed repairs at Ollie Mountain Skate Park, located at 490 West D St. When TVRPD met with the volunteers, they told them they didn't have the manpower to keep up with the demanding summer duties and also repair the skate park.
