Beginning Feb. 1, the California Living Museum will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Also beginning Feb. 1, Senior Discovery Days return to CALM. Every Tuesday, seniors (60 years and over) will receive a 50% admissions discount and a 10% discount on gift store merchandise. Regular senior admission is $7. Hundreds of Tehachapi residents turned out at the Save Mart parking lot on Saturday, Jan. 16 to attend a community fundraiser and Celebration of Life for Aaron Abbott, a long-time Save Mart employee and friend to so many Save Mart shoppers. On Dec. 20, 2021, representatives of the Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District and the City of Tehachapi were joined by members of the Chamber of Commerce to cut the ribbon for the new Ollie Mountain Sports Park located at 410 W. Holy cardboard! A message from the General Manager With people moving to Stallion Springs and with the increase in online holiday shopping the recycling area at the disposal site is being overrun with boxes. The cardboard is picked up on a regular basis by FIELD and we are working with them for possible solutions. If the bins are full, please throw your cardboard in the trash bins. Toys for Tots had another great year here in Tehachapi collecting just under 900 toys for kids in our community. Last year between our collections at Christmas and our Christmas in July, we collected over 1,200 toys. This year we were at about the same level, collecting over 300 this past July.
