The second Saturday of every month at Tehachapi Airport is airplane display day, and many hanger owners open their hangers to the public to show off the aircraft. Currently this is the only day when the airport is open to the public. What did you do for Saint Patrick's Day? In Tehachapi 41 people (many dressed in green) donated blood. An additional 17 people came out and were unfortunately turned away due to time and space limitations and hopefully they will return to the next blood drive in May. The California City Friends of the Library will have a Great Book Exchange on Saturday, March 12 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on the lawn in front of the Cal City Branch of the Kern County Library. Since the close of their first very successful art show in Tehachapi in 2021, the Tehachapi Arts Commission has been working steadily on Art 2022 Tehachapi. Per Capita grants have been approved for both Horsethief and Man O'War Parks. The CSD staff is looking forward to starting these projects to better our parks for the community. Unfortunately, we will not be able to hold the Calgonquin 25K/50K on the Lehigh Trails in Tehachapi in 2022. The land changed ownership last year and our many efforts to secure permission from the landowners for the event have been unsuccessful.
