The California City Friends of the Library will have a Great Book Exchange on Saturday, March 12 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on the lawn in front of the Cal City Branch of the Kern County Library. The workroom at the library is full and the Friends cannot take in any more books until we clean out a lot. So, we had an idea to just exchange books. Since the close of their first very successful art show in Tehachapi in 2021, the Tehachapi Arts Commission has been working steadily on Art 2022 Tehachapi. Per Capita grants have been approved for both Horsethief and Man O'War Parks. The CSD staff is looking forward to starting these projects to better our parks for the community. Projects planned for use of the grant include aerating the lake, new tables, benches and playgrounds at both parks. Unfortunately, we will not be able to hold the Calgonquin 25K/50K on the Lehigh Trails in Tehachapi in 2022. The land changed ownership last year and our many efforts to secure permission from the landowners for the event have been unsuccessful.
