    Parolee Roberto Betancourt from Bakersfield was arrested on Aug. 2, for committing grand theft of $1,700 in cash from a vendor at the Tehachapi Farmers Market on July 25. The suspect was also arrested for causing $2,000 in damage to a coin machine at the Wash Tub Laundromat in Tehachapi on July 30. The Planning Commission approved the installation of a new AT&T telecommunications tower to be located on the Rockpile located at Tehachapi Airport.
