Kern County Fire Department hosted an open house for its newest seasonal fire station in the Tehachapi Valley. Located on property owned by the Golden Hills CSD, Station 13 as it's known is a "full service fire station" staffed 24hrs a day with a fire Captain, Engineer, and Firefighter. With their paramedic training and fire fighting capabilities the residents west of Tucker Road will be receiving much faster response times. Construction of the permanent Golden Hills station is right on track and details from Kern County fire are expected soon according to Kern County Fire Department Chief Brian Marshall.
