Scooter Rides Right Back To Rotary

Many of you have seen Rotarians in front of Albertsons, or at least you've seen the beautiful bright red scooter by the Alta One Bank inside Albertsons, or at the Sail Thru Car Wash. The sale of $5 raffle tickets to win this outstanding scooter is a fundraiser which is earmarked towards scholarships for graduating high school seniors who are continuing their education. Like so many fundraising events, it takes a lot of planning and organizing to make it effective and fruitful. By the time you are at the end of the effort you are breathing a sigh of relief and feeling grateful for the income generated.

Recently the Rotary Club of Tehachapi drew the winning ticket for the Scooter at Farmers Market. The winner, Connie Ward, was notified immediately. Upon hearing the news that she had won, Connie asked the Rotary Club to continue their efforts to raise money for scholarships by donating back that red scooter.

We are pleased and honored to continue our efforts to raise money for scholarships and sincerely thank this generous and thoughtful donation of the scooter back to Rotary by Connie Ward. We also want to thank Jack Potter of Tehachapi Lawn & Garden Equipment for working with our club on acquiring this scooter.

Scooter re-raffle tickets sales will commence on July 19, 2014 at the Tehachapi Mountain Beer & BBQ Festival with the winning ticket scheduled to be drawn at the Apple Festival on October 12, 2014.

Please help us to help students who wish to continue their education. Your support makes our scholarships possible.
