What's Up in Stallion Springs?

The Stallion Springs CERT team hosted a preparation meeting for the GranFondo Bicycle Ride to be held on September 13. Twenty three members of the Stallion Springs, Bear Valley and Sand Canyon CERT teams attended to get a briefing on what their duties would be, and what to expect on ride day.

CERT members along with the Stallion Springs Citizen Service Unit will assist the Sheriff and Stallion Springs Police Department in traffic control and at rest areas in the Cummings Valley and Sand Canyon.

Over 650 cyclists are expected for the ride.

CERT is also preparing for a training class in Stallion Springs in mid–October. The class is open to anyone, you need not be a Stallion resident to attend.

What would you do in an emergency or when a disaster strikes your community? Through training you will be able to help yourself and others in an emergency.

The basic training class will be held over 4 days, Wednesday, October 15,

5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, October 18, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday, October 25, 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, October 29, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Stallion Springs CSD Board Room. To sign up go to [email protected] or call (661) 412-CERT.

CSD Encourages Water Conservation

A reminder to Conserve Water. The toilet rebate program is underway, as well as the shower head replacement program. For more information on these programs contact the CSD at (661) 822-3268.

Police Report

The Stallion Springs Police Department warned residents that new phone scam has been reported. Phone calls from 000 area code, offer of “Government Grant”. The suspects will ask various questions regarding how to send the funds to the victim, in an attempt to acquire the victims banking information. Beware, don’t fall for phone scams!

For emergency police, fire and medical calls dial 911 and tell the dispatcher you are in Stallion Springs. For non-emergency calls contact the Sheriff’s Department at 1-800-862 3110 and a Stallion Springs officer will be dispatched.
