Tehachapi's Online Community News & Entertainment Guide
40 more Tehachapi pets were spayed or neutered, microchipped and given Rabies vaccinations. We would like to thank our community partners: Tehachapi News and The Loop newspaper for announcing the event; Tehachapi Valley Parks and Recreation for donating the West Park Activity Center; Hungry Howies Pizza for donating yummy pizzas for lunch; and Starbucks for donating coffee and condiments. We also want to thank Dr. Willis and his staff for their professionalism and hard work; it was a long, exhausting day. And last, but never least, thank you to the Have a Heart volunteers. They filled out paperwork, carried tables and chairs, swept and scrubbed, carried dogs and cats, sat by the pets after surgery, watched and rubbed them until they woke up and could go home. When you see these devoted animal lovers in the community, stop and say thanks for all that they do to help our town’s pets: Opal Lawler, Charlee Taylor, Susie Ormsby, Lynette Jones, Burt and Vera Meserve, Sam Stevens, Guy Martin, Carol Larimore, Dianna Brown, Maureen Cornyn, Jennifer Jorgensen, Sandy Murray, Ted Kitzmiller, Steven Huecker and BJ Hinds.
This clinic, and the ones to come, are only made possible by donations from the general public and from grants, which we work very hard to obtain. No county taxpayer money has been used. Please put Have a Heart on your holiday giving list so that we can continue to give the community’s pets the services they need. If you would like to join the Have a Heart team and be part of the solution to Kern County’s pet overpopulation, please email us at [email protected].
