Santa is missing from the North Pole! It has been rumored that Santa Claus has left his workshop and can be found wandering throughout local businesses from Dec. 2 through Dec. 5. This errant Santa is carrying tickets with him for a $100 drawing at Santa’s Workshop Craft Boutique on Dec. 6, from 10-5 p.m., located in the Tehachapi Moose Lodge on West F Street. in Tehachapi. By using the clues below, local residents can find Santa and have their name placed in the drawing for one hundred bucks from St. Nick. Participants may attend several sightings for a better chance at the drawing. Santa has asked that the winner be present for the 3 p.m. drawing the day of Santa’s Workshop Craft Boutique. Santa Sightings is sponsored by Gateway Connections and HEARTS, a nonprofit organization that assists families of special needs children and adults. The search is on! Don’t miss out on the fun of sighting Santa and a chance for his cash drawing.
Santa Sighting #1, Tues., Dec. 2, Noon: Rather stout fellow is in need of a missing button on red suspenders. Needle and thread are also required for personal repair work. Was sighted with a list of naughty and nice, the name Debbie appeared on that list. He will offer you a $100 drawing ticket. Accept his offer.
Santa Sighting #2, Wed., Dec. 3, 3:30 p.m.: Man with round-belly that shakes like a bowl full of jelly was seen mumbling about visions of sugar plums and filling stockings with an assortment of candies. Has a habit of giving sweets to children and grandmas, too. Approach with hand out-stretched to receive a $100 drawing ticket.
Santa Sighting #3, Thurs., Dec. 4, 4 p.m.: Gentleman with beard as white as snow is looking for his lost reindeer. May substitute Rudolph with mechanical bull named Mossy Oak Mudslinger. It is rumored he is training Victor as an assistant to “save” money. If sighted, ask him for $100 drawing ticket, and sleighing lessons.
Santa Sighting #4, Friday, Dec. 5, 2 p.m.: Portly man in red suit found wandering in the vicinity of hot bread, chicken, ribs, and bakery goods. Last seen in Sav-on area for purchase of antacid relief. Find the man, get a ticket for a $100 drawing. May also be in possession of several candy canes.
Santa Sighting #5, Fri., Dec. 5,5 p.m.: Jolly old elf is known to haunt toy, game, clothing and electronics establishment. Said to hoard Craftsman tools and appear under blue light specials. May be armed with $100 ticket drawing accessories.
Proceeds from the boutique are used for social and educational programs in Tehachapi for children and adults with special needs. All merchants participating in the Santa Sighting have been contacted and agreed to assist us. (See page 24 for accompanying article.)
