Our winter hours are Monday-Saturday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Events are open to the public. Come and join the fun. No reservations necessary.
Open Studios at the Treasure Trove do not require reservations – you can come and be inspired to do your best work (or play!) in our comfortable and creative environment any time the store is open. Open studio sessions are available for $5. Come on over and get busy being creative!
Open Studio on Monday evenings from 5 to 8 p.m. – Watercolor.
Open Studio on Friday mornings from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – All media welcome.
Clean Your Closet Days, Feb. 21 and 22. Folks are invited to rent a table to sell unwanted art and craft supplies for the weekend. Please call the store for additional information. It's time to start sorting out your stuff.
Reservations for all classes with a deposit must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled class. Students may bring their own supplies for classes or purchase supplies at the Treasure Trove. Please call (661) 822-6794 for additional information and reservations or visit our facebook page.
Tuesday afternoons, 3-5 p.m. – Earth Clay with Gloria Moore. $25 per class, plus the cost of clay. A weekly workshop to explore various methods of working with earth-based clay.
Wednesday mornings from 10 a.m. -2 p.m. - Adventures in Painting with Juanita Niemeyer. A workshop for artists painting with oils or acrylics. Bring your own project or work on a project supplied by the teacher. Juanita is an experienced art teacher and can help with techniques for whatever you want to paint. Paint on canvas, wood, glass, paper or ceramic bisque. $20 per session, not including materials. A variety of materials are available for sale at the Treasure Trove. Come any Wednesday and experience your creativity. Please bring lunch. Lunch break will be for half an hour.
January 10, Saturday from Noon to 2 p.m. – Introduction to Polymer Clay with Cathy Clark. $35, including materials. Students will learn to work with polymer clay and will create a decorative pen using learned techniques.
January 12, Monday from 1 to 4 p.m. – Hollow Earth Clay Sculpture with Susanna Monette. $35, materials included. Learn to create hollow sculptures from Earth-based clay. Pieces created will be dried, fired and be available in about 3-4 weeks.
January 17, Saturday from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. – Introduction to Calligraphy with Lucinda Thomas. $20. This class will learn the basics of calligraphy and create a small frameable calligraphy phrase. The teacher will supply nibs for use in class. Students will need to purchase or bring tracing paper, pen holders and calligraphy paper.
January 17, Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. – Knotted Necklace with Suzanne Leberman. $25, plus supplies. Learn basic knotting and create a unique necklace using p'leather and glass beads of various shapes and sizes. The sample necklace is 36 inches long, but the packaged cord length is 72 inches, which will enable students to make necklace(s) any length. It can be worn long or wrapped twice for a choker-style necklace. The necklace is finished off with bead tips, a jump ring, and lobster clasp.
January 24, Saturday from 10 a.m. to Noon – Iris Paper Folding Card with Janet Meabon. Class price is $20. Learn to make sensational cards with folded paper. Your choice of design: Snowflake or Heart. The class price includes materials to make one card. Materials for additional cards will be available for $5.
January 24, Saturday 1 to 4 p.m. – Jewelry Making with Dawn Callahan. $25, plus materials. Learn beading and jewelry making basics. Create your own necklace and earrings, and make something special for the holidays.
January 26, Monday from 1-4 p.m. – Loom Beading with Susanna Monette. $20, plus materials. Learn to weave beautiful designs on a bead loom. Needed supplies: Beads; a loom and warp or beading thread, beading needles, beading mat, and scissors.
January 31, Saturday from 1-4 p.m. – Krackalakin Candle Making with Carol Bartels. Create your own soy candles. Your choice of colors and scent. $25 for an 8 oz. candle. Additional candles $10 each, or discounted by the ounce. Bring your own container or use the ones that the instructor supplies. Create a great gift for Valentine's Day.
