The Stallion Springs Board of Directors appointed Ed Gordon to the Board to fill the vacancy left by David Burt who resigned in November. He will complete the balance of Burt's term through 2016. He was selected from the seven applicants for the position.
Gordon has lived in Stallion for close to 10 years and is a member of the Stallion Springs Police Community Service Unit and the Stallion Springs CERTS team. He worked for the Tehachapi News as a reporter and covered the local CSDs and Tehachapi City Council for several years giving him insight into not only the operation of the Stallion Springs CSD, but other CSDs and Tehachapi City government as well. He hopes to bring some of this experience to bear in serving on the board.
For December 2014, the Police Department reported eight arrests, issued 12 citations, filed 85 reports, 80 calls for service, and responded to four call outs. They did 53, Want and Warrant Checks, 53 Field Interviews, one Medical Assist and Officers initiated 137 Investigations. The Community Service Unit completed nine house checks in addition to other administrative work.
Stallion Springs Neighborhood Watch has changed its monthly meeting date after receiving response from a questionnaire sent to members. Members replied via email and Facebook as to days and times for monthly meetings. The majority selected the third Thursday of the month to hold the regular monthly meeting. The next meeting date is on February 19 at 6 p.m. at the SS CSD.
