The Stallion Springs board of directors held its regular monthly meeting on Feb. 17 at the Community Services District (CSD) building. The Stallion Springs 4-H requested the continued use of the area behind the swimming pool to plant and cultivate the community garden, as they did last year. The board unanimously approved the request.
The board also approved a resolution to continue the weed abatement program. The purpose of the program is to provide "defensible space" around improved properties, as well as provide a more attractive community. The district will mail out notices to affected property owners giving them the option to mow the area or have the district do it for them. For 2015 the fee will be the same as past years, $80 per lot.
Officers received internal training on the temporary custody of juveniles and training through Kern County on drug laboratories and chemical suicides.
Officer James Best gave a presentation titled, "Anti Bullying Information", and Co-Block Captain, Heather Tingley, provided the presentation "Together, We Can Stop Bullying" to the group.
It was announced that Heather Tingley was moving from Stallion Springs and a new co-block captain would be needed to replace her. If you're interested in the position you should contact Jean Clark at [email protected]. A replacement will be named at the March 19 meeting.
