Kaiser Permanente is pleased to announce a new medical office building scheduled to open fall of 2015 in the city of Tehachapi. The outpatient facility will be located at 1100 W. Tehachapi Blvd., Tehachapi.
“Kaiser Permanente’s Mobile Health Vehicle (MHV) has been providing care in Tehachapi to Kaiser Permanente members since March of 2012. The response and utilization of the MHV has been very positive and so the decision was made to create permanent roots in the community,” stated David Womack, Kaiser Permanente’s Kern County Medical Center Executive Director.
The new facility is designed to support primary care services and will utilize state-of-the-art technology in tele-medicine to connect our members to experts across Southern California for specialty care. The medical office will have four exam rooms, a nurse clinic, and self-service tools for members who want to come in to check their blood pressure, BMI, and log on to KP.org to check test results or listen to educational material. The Medical Office will be supported by Registered Nurse Practitioners and physicians. Laboratory services will be available on site. Radiology services will be available through our contract with the Tehachapi District Hospital and first-fill prescriptions will be available from Walgreens directly across the street from our facility.
The new facility will have a multi-purpose room that will be used to offer health education activities such as disease specific related classes and exercise options like Chair Aerobics.
Kaiser Permanente Medical Director Dr. Julia Bae went on to say “Providing high quality care is always our number one goal at Kaiser Permanente. We are thrilled to offer this more permanent solution to our members within the community of Tehachapi.”
The medical offices will be open Monday through Saturday, with evening appointments available.
