Tehachapi's Online Community News & Entertainment Guide
The Southern Sierra Council of the Boy Scouts of America is offering a Cub Scout Day Camp program to give Tehachapi boys an adventurous, active and healthy summer.
Day Camp offers youth several fun and unique experiences with an opportunity to explore the outdoors, meet new friends and discover new interests. The Boy Scouts of America encourages parents to help their boys unplug from technology and explore all the camp has to offer.
“Attending Cub Scout Day Camp is a wonderful opportunity for boys to keep their minds and bodies active,” says Charles Schuyler, Camp Director, “When at Day Camp, boys get to learn about nature, take on new responsibilities, gain independence, and develop essential social skills and new relationships. We really encourage parents to give their boys the gift of camp so that they can benefit from the experience.”
The theme for this year’s Cub Scout Day Camp is “Take Flight”. Activities will include building model rockets, BB gun shooting, sports, archery, water games, crafts, campfire songs and other aviation related activities. Day Camp is an unforgettable experience that will give each camper memories to last a lifetime.
Tehachapi Cub Scout Day Camp will be held this summer from July 27 to 31, from 5 to 8:30 p.m, at Benz Field. It is open to all boys entering first through fifth grades in the fall. (Fall first graders must be accompanied by an adult.) You do not need to be a Cub Scout to attend. Register online at http://www.sscbsa.org/Daycamp. Early bird registration (before May 1) is $90. After May 1, the cost increases to $100.
Registration fee includes a t-shirt, nightly dinner, and a model rocket, in addition to all the camp activities. Financial assistance is available to those who qualify.
