Kern Audubon Society Tehachapi meeting

Our local bird club is having their next meeting: Tuesday Evening, April 28th at 7 p.m. in Golden Hills Elementary School Cafeteria at 20215 Park Rd

Guest Speaker: Karen Pestana

Karen Pestana is a local biologist, who for more than ten years has managed our bluebird nest box monitoring program here in Tehachapi. She and a number of die-hard volunteers have maintained and monitored over fifty boxes, collecting data and submitting it to Cornell Lab of Ornithology's Nest Watch program. In 2011 the group was recognized by Cornell as one of the "Top twenty Nests Watch All Stars."

Karen will talk about the success of the bluebird conservancy program and outline the process of maintaining this bluebird trail with birding stories and many pictures of her appreciative avian friends.

Please join us for a fun, informative evening highlighting birds.
