Monroe High School Principal Laura Barba brought the school board up to date on the alternative school’s activities and achievements at their April 14th meeting.
She told them that this year attendance is up and that the school has adopted a new motto, “All Panthers every day and on time”. A Magic Mountain Incentive trip will include between 20 and 35 students. She added that school is adding STM (science, technology and math) classes and now has a counselor two full days a week.
The school has received $3,500 in scholarship donations from two very generous Tehachapi citizens.
Graduation is just around the corner and Monroe will be graduating 22 students. In addition, three students will be returning to Tehachapi High School to graduate, ten students will be graduating from the adult school and 11 Independent Study students will graduate at Tehachapi High School.
It has been a very successful year.
