Events at the Treasure Trove

Come and join the fun. No reservations necessary.

Open Studios at the Treasure Trove

Open Studios at the Treasure Trove do not require reservations – you can come and be inspired to do your best work (or play!) in our comfortable and creative environment any time the store is open. Three hour Open Studio sessions are available for $5. Come on over and get busy being creative! Reservations not required.

· Monday evening, 5 to 8, is Open Studio – Watercolor.

· Friday morning, 10 to 1, is Open Studio - All Media.

· PFLAG meets every Third Thursday at 7 PM. (Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays)

Classes at the Treasure Trove

Reservations for all classes with a deposit must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled class. Students may bring their own supplies for classes or purchase supplies at the Treasure Trove. Monday mornings 10-12. Crocheting and Knitting for Beginners with Peggy Schmidt. $20.00 per session plus supplies. Students will learn the basics of crocheting or knitting. Please specify when enrolling for the class.

Tuesday afternoons, 2-4 is Earth Clay with Gloria Moore for $25 per class plus clay and firing charge. A weekly open work shop to explore various methods of working with earth based clay.

Wednesday mornings 10-2 - Adventures in Painting with Juanita Niemeyer. A workshop for artists painting with oils or acrylics. Bring your own project or work on a project supplied by the teacher. Juanita is an experienced art teacher and can help with techniques for whatever you want to paint. Paint on canvas, wood, glass, paper or ceramic bisque. $20 per session (not including materials). A variety of materials are available for sale at the Treasure Trove. Come any Wednesday and experience your creativity. Please bring lunch. Lunch break will be half an hour.

May 9, Saturday morning from 10 to 12, Iris Paper Folding Patriotic Card - with Janet Meabon for $20. Class price includes materials to make one card. Learn to make sensational cards with folded paper. Create a special Greeting. The class price includes materials to make one card. Materials for additional cards will be available for $5.

May 9, Saturday afternoon from 12 to 4 - Triangle Trinket Box with Cathy Clark. $35 plus materials. Students will learn to work with polymer clay and cute little trinket box.

May 16, Saturday morning from 10-12:30 - Hollow Beaded Rope with Lucinda Thomas for $20. This class will learn how to bead hollow rope which can be made into bracelets, necklaces, eye glass holders etc.

May 16, Saturday afternoon, 1 to 4 - Jewelry Making with Dawn Callahan for $25 Plus Materials. Learn beading and jewelry making basics: Create your own necklace and earrings.

May 23, Saturday from 1 to 4. Wire Wrapping with Bassema Korkor for $35 plus materials. Learn to wrap wire around your focal piece and create a beautiful pendant.

May 30, Saturday 10 to 4. Bear Valley Poppy Batik with Nancy Waldron for $50 plus supplies. Nancy will be sharing her watercolor batik process. Using hot wax as a resist is a customary way to create fabric batiks. Students will learn how to achieve the look of a fabric batik using watercolor and wax on rice paper. The result is a unique piece of art. Please call 822-6794 for additional information.

June 13, Saturday from 10 to 5 is Clean Your Closet Day. Artists and Crafters are invited to rent a table for the day and sell art and craft supplies that are no longer wanted. Vendors will remain with their table for the day and are welcome to sell, trade and negotiate as desired.
