Tehachapi's Online Community News & Entertainment Guide
Held from 10 to 2 p.m., check in begins at 9 a.m. Pre-registration will be available (and recommended!). This show has a casual atmosphere and laid back vibe, you can park where you want, come and go as you please. With an Early-Bird registration that includes a Tee Shirt and Swag Bag, the cost is only $20. Day of the event is only $25 but doesn’t include the Tee and Swag Bag.
Classics, antiques, rods and all other cars of interest are invited to this affair. Everyone is welcome at this event, including specialty vehicles (with an Odd Rod category.) This Show offers car buffs, owners and aficionados the opportunity to show and witness the cream of the crop in the extremely comfortable month of September (average 72 degrees!) There is always a veritable potpourri of top quality collectible cars on hand.
In 2013 promoters increased the award base, now handing out close to 30 awards in 10 (or more) categories. This guarantees every entry a greater chance of winning something! Show judging is done by a panel of out of town car buffs, Kern County business sponsors and local Tehachapi dignitaries. All trophies and photo awards are presented that afternoon. Don’t worry, the voted awards like “People’s Choice,” the “Teacher’s” and “Preacher’s Choice” Awards, “Work In Progress” and “Odd Rod” awards will still be a part of this year’s event.
Formerly known as the Heritage Oak School Annual Cruise-In & Car Show, in 2012 promoters changed the name to the “T-Town Rumble” and added truck and motorcycle categories. In 2015 the motorcycle category was dropped, but the “big prize,” best of show car (or truck) will still be crowned the “King of the Rumble.”
Like every non-profit organization, Heritage Oak School needs your help. For a small amount, you can be a sponsor and have your family or business name on these great looking high quality cotton Tee Shirts that are seen all over the Kern County car show circuit. Or, make a donation and sponsor the Trophies. Maybe you have a product that you would like to be featured in next year’s SWAG Bags?
